I've changed my thinking as of late. Although I have more than 1000 subscribers (not followers) on my blogs, but I kept seeing my traffic plummeted. Subscribers don't have to click on my blogs to read my posts; rather they read the full feed in their email or in a reader.
If you are trying to make extra money with your blog, traffic and page rank are both very important in receiving decent assignments. So I set out to explore on this subject and found a solution below:
- Go into Settings
- Select Site Feed
- In the drop down menu for Allow Blog Feed
- Choose your option
- Fill in your feed address, it looks something like this: http://feeds.feedburner.com/WanderingThought (replace WanderingThought with your blog name)
- Save your changes and you're done
Thanks! I just tried to figure this out. I don't really know if it worked.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea.
Hugs,
Dee
I'm in it for the interaction between reader and writer. But, I can see where I might start thinking about hits and traffic sometime. I get many of my comments via email and facebook message. It would be nice to have them all under the umbrella of my blog I think.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try this! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI never even thought of that, Icy. Thanks for the heads up and info.
ReplyDeletethanks a lot for the idea Icy, I too have subscribers and I learned from hubby he does not go to my site since he gets my feed in his email complete with pictures, so he told me he does not click my site anymore :( gee! sometimes I wonder why I put that email subscription up before.thanks for this tip.
ReplyDeleteIcyBc! There is a way that you can get subscribers to go to your site. You will have to set the option to just let them preview...Let me know, if I can help.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to comment everyone..
ReplyDelete@Amanda, I've changed the email option, as you can see from the image..I only offer a short snippet!
I still trying to decide if I want to set this up or not. I have read a couple of posts on other blogs saying they signed up for email notifications and then just marked them as spam so they don't come to their in box.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Icy, maybe I'll make up my mind eventually.
I'm not too smart about all this, Icy. I don't think I have it correctly. I may need more of a tutorial. Remember, I'm an old lady!
ReplyDeleteIcy, where would I be without you?
