This was the view behind me, as I sat watching my son soccer practice. I'm getting a little braver pulling out my camera, pointing it toward the sky, and just shoot with people's eyes on me. My 12-year-old, however, was embarrassed beyond words as this is a new club, new team, which equal strangers, and his reputation was on the line, so to speak!

oh, you made me smile and then the smile giggled into laughter Icy, I can just see the face of embarrassment of your son :) but well, so proud of you to be enjoying life this way, I hesitate sometimes to take out my camera and shoot too, but like you, I would say, "I am not doing anything wrong, just doing what I love" :) haha!
ReplyDeleteI know just what you're talking about. I've got a 12 year old son too. When his friends come over I'm not allowed to sing along to the radio or nod my head to any music.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I think he just wants me to cook the food and keep my mouth shut :-) when his friends are in earshot.
Kids and adults alike can be embarrassed when the camera is around. Lord knows my friends are, that is except for Carmen because she does the same :) I love that shot Icy. It's beautiful.
ReplyDelete...eine sehr schöne Aufnahme....ich mag Sonnenauf- und -untergänge....

Nice sky shot! I remember those days of embarassing my kids. U just can't win with them at this age! LOL
ReplyDeleteJust tell your son to get over it! Mine, even as adults, just roll their eyes. I do love going out with Jo because we whip out our cameras in stereo, ignoring the stares of eveyone. Besides, when you get photos like this one, it's worth it!
ReplyDeleteI love this photo!
ReplyDeletehappy SWF:)
I'm sorry your son was embarrassed you brought out your camera. The pic is cool.
ReplyDeleteYou made me remember that I used to be embarrassed, too. Now I just shoot away and surprise myself. Nice shot, very interesting quote.
ReplyDeleteI'll do the same, just shoot it :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome sunset!

Don't worry, he'll get used to it and may even be able to turn it into an advantage to have and 'odd' mother.
ReplyDeleteI have come out of a supermarket, pointed my camera at the sky with an oak tree in front and people have stopped and asked me in a bemused way what I was photographing. They just could not get it that It was the tree against the sky.
Great shot and I love that quote! Your son will get used to you pulling out the camera someday! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how many times my behavior has mortified my children, but then they have returned the favor a time or two too. lol The shot was worth it. My hubby gets embarrassed too and I tell him God's word deserves to get noticed.
ReplyDeleteyeah, yeah. I know what you mean by people looking at you...strangely. Like when I bent over and try to zoom in on a macro shot of a tiny flower.
