Purchase your favorite seafood: lobsters, crab legs, shrimps, andouille sausages, corns, 3-4 small red skin potatoes, and mussels. The best part to have seafood boiled at home is the freedom to pick what food you want to eat, or what combination is best for your family.
A Pot of Boiled Seafood
Season a pot of water with salt, black pepper, bay leaves, one whole onion, two carrots, and your favorite spices such as mixed Cajun powder, or chili powder. Bring the water to a boil, and then drop in your corn, red skin potatoes, lobsters, andouille sausages, crab legs, mussels, and shrimps.
Scrumptious Seafood Boiled at Home
Here is the bloody truth about me: I don't like complicated cooking but I like to eat! My oldest son likes to cook complicated meals, so this was his creation. This pot of seafood served four people, and the left over was enough for another serving the next day. So as far as budgeting, we managed well for scrumptiously grand seafood boiled at home.

Oh, that has me so hungry right now. I don't like complicated either but this is so easy, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI have been craving a clambake, but this would really do the trick...it looks delicious!
ReplyDeletewow, looks so delicious, i love seafood, so definitely will try this one at home.
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you, I totally love seafood! They're expensive so I don't get to eat them as often as I like, but when I do, I enjoy every second. Wish I could drop by for a bowl. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks good, Icy! Yum!
ReplyDeleteDo I ever wish I had been invited for dinner! I love seafood, especially a feast like you had. I really love combinations...when they're done like this or grilled. So many places only do fried seafood platters but I think the grilled ones are so much tastier.
ReplyDeleteThis recipe is screaming my name! I love a low-country boil! And I see you have all of my favorites. So many people shy away from a meal like this because they think it is too complicated or expensive. I say, buy on sale and give it a try! This looks scrumptious! You have made it doable for all of us! Thanks for bringing the fruits of the sea to ON THE MENU MONDAY!
